Deepwood offers a wide variety of laboratory testing for your equine and farm
animals. Some tests are performed in our clinic laboratory while other more
specialized tests are sent to external laboratories. Listed below are some
common lab tests.

Fecal Egg per Gram count: Checks for intestinal parasites. Recommended at
least biannually in all equines and farm animals with rechecks if treatment is
prescribed.

Wellness Bloodwork: Checks liver and kidney values, a complete blood count
and fibrinogen (inflammation). Recommended yearly in equines as an early
screening tool and to establish a baseline in case of future illness.

Metabolic Screening: Recommended in horses exhibiting signs of Cushings
Disease or Equine Metabolic Syndrome

IgG testing: Recommended and performed on newborn animals (equine and
farm animals) to test for proper transfer of maternal antibodies

Equine Lyme Panel: Screens for exposure to or infection of Lyme disease.
Recommended in patients with high tick exposure, attitude change, shifting leg
lameness/soreness, inappetance, and/or fever of unknown origin. We also offer a
lyme snap test that is a useful quick screening test in horses with or without signs
of lyme disease.

screening tests including Tuberculosis, Brucellosis, BVD, CAE, and BLV. Please
